December 22nd, 2011

It has been hot and humid but today a front came though, we had some heavy rain and the temperature has dropped enough that hoodies have to be worn.

I think everything is done for Christmas. The shopping for gifts and shopping for food is done. Ham for dinner, can't ask for better than that!

Nov. 24th

Liam made this Turkey cup in school. It's really cute.
The family is in Missouri for Thanksgiving. It looks like they won't be getting any snow this trip. They should be home Saturday night.
By then Mississippi will be chilly so I hope they won't be looking for warmth.

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful."

Nov. 19th 2011

The family is in upstate MS and will head towards Missouri Tomorrow. The weather has been see-sawing, cold and breezy. Warm and humid.
The cool nights and warm days are the best.

Oct. 8th

This was my mothers. It served very well. I can't tell you how many times I stuck it under hot water when I was a kid so I could pretend to be sick and miss school. I remember once coming out of the bathroom and handing it to my mother. It probably said 104. She shook it down and told me to take it again. I said, ok, but I have to go to the bathroom. She said, ok and sat with me in the bathroom. I had to go to school.

Sept. 10th

A few weeks ago we were hit by tropical storm Lee.
Thank goodness we only had 4 days of rain and some wind. The boys room got some water damage but all in all it was not bad. Parts of MS and LA flooded but the worst damage was done in the Northeast.

The best thing is, since the storm we have had beautiful cooler weather! It is starting to warm up again but we had a week of low humidity.

This is the Peak of the hurricane season so hopefully we have dodged the bullet again. Hurricane Maria and Nate are roaming around but are no threat to us.

4th of July

It is Hot and humid again. We have been in the triple digits for a number of days.
We also are under a burn ban, so all fire works will be down on the beach.
The police will strictly enforce this rule.

We will BBQ some ribs today with roasted potatoes and home made ice cream will be made.
It has been too hot to even go to activities that have been scheduled around the town for the last three days.

Hothothot

The weather has been brutal the last week or so. Today was so hot we all stayed in the house and the kids were between our house and the neighbors house next door.
We have only had a sprinkling of rain in over a month. If everything isn't heavily watered it would die and turn brown.

I don't know how construction people and road crews work outdoors on days like this.
The family garden is doing good. I love the potatoes from the garden they have such a nice taste to them.
They get more green beans then we eat.

May

The weather is a bit odd. It's down right cold at night and early morning then heating up to the 80's in the afternoon. I would be happy if it stayed like this.

The kids finish school on the 19th, I think. Boy, that came around fast.
But before you know it they will be back in school.

This frog lives in the hose holder, there is a little space between the holder and the wall and it lives there but comes out to say hello.

It's getting warm

Again along time since I was here.
The weather is getting warm but we still have some wonderful cool days.
It has been breezy the last few days.

Daughter is in New York, her father is not doing good and it could be the end of the road for him, very soon.

The grandkids are all doing good. Grace made the dance team so she is excited about that. Joey will do football this year and Liam is still in the scouts.

The kids are on spring break now and it's hard to believe school will be over next month!
