Mushroom

Two years ago we had a water oak on the front lawn that was dying. It was removed but the roots under the lawn are still rotting, thus we have mushrooms. They have been cut and mowed over, that should be end of them this year.

The weather is still the same.Sunny, hot, humid with a breeze. The breeze makes it feel not as hot as it really is. Everything is starting to bloom or grow leaves.

Lawn

The front and back lawns were mowed and the weed whacker started and the sod put down in bare places. Yep, we will be mowing till Oct - Nov now.

The weather is still very mild but with a mild breeze. Today we had the air on in the car. The skies have been mostly clear after all that rain we had a few days ago. It is hot and humid. It looks like no chance of cooler weather, we went right into summer. The bugs are back. Carpenter bees are being so annoying, they are in a number of areas in the front and back and I whack them with my electric tennis racket. So far its the bees 2, the racket 0. I have to get my swing back.

Stormin

We just had three nasty days of storms. 3 tornado's were spotted in South MS. We were under a system that just couldn't move and we got almost 8 inches of rain dumped on us. It was a little scary at times.

We had some storms this morning but the sun is out now and hopefully the bad weather could finally move east away from us.

Blue Bird of Happiness

My daughter spotted the Blue Birds of Happiness the other day. They were on wires making a lot of noise, fighting with each other.

They finally landed on our neighbor,Fred's fence. I got as close as I could to get some pictures of the birds. This was my clearest blurry picture :( And then Fred came along on his sprayer. He is getting this part of his yard ready for planting. Last year he planted corn here. I took a picture of him heading back to his shed.

Today is sunny, warm and very WINDY.

Did you expect a Spring

The weather will get up to near 80^o all this week, with a low in the 60's at night. Winter is gone, for sure. The central air has been kicking on regularly the last week and I think tonight my air conditioner will be going on for the first time this year. The sound of mowers fill the air on the weekends now. After the mild winter we had I guess Spring will be only a fond memory. The long hot summer has started..

St.Patrick's Day

The weather is still foggy in the morning. Although it seems to be not as thick as it was a few days ago. The sun has been breaking through the clouds, so more sunshine during the day.

The next rain is not supposed to be for a few more days. So the sun will be shining today, St.Patrick's Day. The sixth annual Grillin’ on the Green will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on the Biloxi’s Town Green. The area’s greatest grillers of ribs, briskets, oysters and more will be cooking for cash prizes to this free event. Children will get to meet the lucky leprechaun, play on inflatable toys and get their faces painted.

Fog

The fog comes on little cat feet. It sits looking over harbor and city on silent haunches and then moves on. ~~Carl Sandburg

Every day about 5pm the fog starts to roll in, it's there in the morning too, but it's so weird seeing it at that time of the day. First everything is clear then you notice the trees a few blocks away looking grayish. I watched the garage down the corner get a film in front of it and then the next minute all was clear again. I love fog, it makes everything mysterious. Our weather pattern is not going to change for the next week, so the fog will be here a little longer.
